Abhyuday started working from eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh in 1997 by taking up preventive and curative community health as a core thematic area with a team of 10 social workers in partnership of the District Health Department. By 2010, it catered to more than 2,500 families in 25 villages through service delivery and behaviour change communications.

Thereafter, its working area expanded to Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh with flagship projects of the Health Ministry like RCH II, UP Health Service Delivers, Sector Investment, and Link Worker Scheme, with an enlarged team of 26 professionals and experts. Around the same time the core team of Abhyuday experienced the need of expanding its core thematic areas to fulfil its vision of social upliftment of the community to meet targeting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abhyuday has a proven experience of executing strategies based on community mobilisation, leadership development, capacity building, behavioural change, IEC, and service delivery approaches under various projects being implemented especially among underprivileged communities. It has active partnership with renowned donors and CSR agencies from all over the country.
